Editorial Layout for Film Projects & Crowdfunding Campaigns

We understand that bringing a film to life can be hard work. Our role is to be your dedicated editorial and digital assistant, so you can focus on filmmaking. This collaboration is also a perfect opportunity for us to feature cinematic short films on our VOD channel. From script to screen, let’s take the journey together!

To get started, we’ve listed the key files to provide in order to publish your film project or crowdfunding campaign. Some are specific to crowdfunding, others more general. Whether it’s a document, an image or an Excel spreadsheet for your film budget, everything is shared on Factory, our management platform designed for seamless collaboration. And relax! We oversee the entire publishing process on your behalf.

Synopsis

While the logline is a one-sentence story summary (30 words or less), a good movie title should stick to the genre and the movie poster, complemented by a tagline of 8 words or less that captures the audience’s attention in a memorable and punchy way. The story, however, should always start with “somebody wants something but has trouble getting it”, which features a change of character sets throughout a flow of obstacles.

Act I (Setup)

The synopsis is a brief summary of your story and starts by introducing the main characters, the setting, and the situation of your main plot.

Act II (Confrontation)

The middle of your story is where the conflict takes place. Mention what happens to your characters on their journey and why we should care about them.

Act III (Resolution)

Finally, the film ends with the resolution. How does the conflict end? Your synopsis should explain everything that will happen in your story.

60-Sec Video Pitch

Explain how the story came to mind, what makes your film story unique and different from others. Stay focused and keep it short. Skip the unnecessary blah-blah that nobody cares about, like talking about your dreams. Instead, pitch like a pro, show confidence by emphasizing the type of audience you’re targeting, the cinematic aspects of your short film, the authenticity of characters, well-crafted dialogue, great sound design, and so on. Condensing all this into 60 seconds is a challenge, but it reveals valuable insights about how prepared you are to handle the entire workflow. GLHF!

Submit a summary of the video transcript of your pitch (about 70 words)
